Our Founders

Ryan Dunsworth, Founder and CEO started ShopDonations in 2006 as a way to help local church's in the Pittsburgh area. His background in online marketing helped provide many church's a new opportunity to raise money through online purchases that the church congregations were already making. He wanted to expand this program and knew that it could help other non-profits in the Pittsburgh area. He decided to contact Bill Schmidt, a lifelong friend who has experience in in online ventures and technology. Together they worked on a plan to build upon Ryan's concept and open it up to all non-profit organizations.

Ryan attended Washington and Jefferson College from 1992-1996 where he played football and studied Business Management. He currently resides in New York City, which he often refers to as the "Mecca" of charitable organizations.

He has a long and successful track record in starting new up and coming businesses, but has never had the same passion that he feels for ShopDonations. "It is a lifelong dream realized; creating something that can help people every day. I truly love what I am doing!"

Bill Schmidt, President of ShopDonations joined the company in 2008. His background in Information Technology has helped the company expand to over 500 retail shopping partners. His creation of new tools within their website and outside of the website has enabled ShopDonations to become more than a website, but a fundraising business with multiple tools that allow non-profits all over the US create a "passive fundraising" stream of revenue that was never before realized.

Bill attended the University of Pittsburgh and Stark State College of Technology, where he studied Business and Information Sciences. He currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife and two children.
